Perhaps some of the most delightful self-catering accommodation in Devon.
Set in a wonderful wooded valley, full of twittering birds, rivers and streams, with absolutely no traffic noise...at all! Full of ancient hedgerows bursting with flowers, herbs and, everywhere, views of Devon's green rolling landscapes. Rumleigh Farm sits within the World Heritage Site and The Tamar Valley an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Weekend breaks are available at certain times of year.
(Book Short Breaks).
With little effort guests can pre-order food that simply needs cooking by popping into the oven, all made by a chef from local organic produce (or if you have a very special occasion he will come and cook for you!).
Close to many attractions including inspiring gardens, stately homes, traditional pubs, and activities, Rumleigh Farm on the unspoilt Bere Peninsular, sits right on the border of Devon and Cornwall, making it an ideal location to explore both. In a car it is only 10 minutes from Dartmoor National Park and half and hour from beautiful beaches.
Rumleigh Farm consists of 2 boutique self-catering barn conversions offering superb 'country house hotel style' accommodation in Devon. Dragonfly sleeps 2 and Yellowhammer sleeps 7.
The many comments from our guests prove just how relaxing it is.
At Rumleigh Farm you can just potter about for hours; watch the butterflies, go pond dipping, stroll to the river, enjoy the woods, marvel at the buzzards - in fact we are so used to our guests just taking things easy that we we call it - caught in the Rumleigh Triangle - here you really can believe you are lost in time!
However, if a more hectic pace of life attracts you it's all close by. Tavistock is a bustling award winning market town full of artisan shops and a foodies paradise. A wonderful Farmers Market, bustling Pannier Market, award winning chefs, many serving great food from Devon and Cornwall, and Gastropubs using local produce. It certainly ranks high on the 'where to eat in Devon stakes'!
Plymouth, of Sir Francis Drake fame, is within half and hour by car or 20 minutes on the train - with its beautiful Hoe and busy Napolionic harbour it offers all the usual delights of shops and entertainment.
Within an hours drive you can go: golfing, pony riding, sailing, canoeing, boating, paint balling, sea fishing, fly fishing, trout fishing, clay pigeon shooting, hawking, falconry, rock climbing, abseiling, scuba diving, helicopter flying, and dolphin watching.
If all that does not get the adrenalin pumping then perhaps driving around some of Devons tiny narrow lanes will do the trick!
